Mary Ellen McGuire died on November 29, 1902 at 17, Evelyn Street, Cardiff. The cause of death is given as "Phthisis" which is another name for TB. The death was registered by her sister, A. Young. On Mary Kate's and Tom's baptism record, they have the same God-Mother, Ann Walsh. Is this Mary Ellen's sister and did she marry later to become A. Young?

Sometime later after the death of Mary Ellen, Hugh McGuire met a lady in Appledore, North Devon by the name of Mable Mayne. Mable had also been previously married and her maiden name was Kenward. Hugh and Mable married in Bideford, North Devon on June 20, 1904. From this union, Vivian John McGuire was born on April 17, 1905. The family had now moved from Cardiff to Appledore and stayed there until the death of Mable. After the death of Mable, Mary Ellen (Eileen) for some reason moved the family including Vivian John back to Wales and settled in Newport and so eventually in the future, the McGuire's became connected to the Abraham, Fitzgerald, Gillard, Morgan and Powell families.
